I scheduled quite a few consultations before choosing the doctor. After meeting Dr. Engler I knew he would be the one performing my surgery. He is simply an AMAZING doctor. First of all, he is very caring and patient. Second of all, Dr. Engler is a knowledgeable, professional and an experienced surgeon. During our first consultation he answered my questions. He explained in detail the procedure itself and also informed me about possible complications, something two other doctors I went to were not too eager to do. We kept in touch till the day of the surgery because I had additional questions that Dr. Engler gladly and very quickly answered via email. It's great to have a doctor that can be contacted easily and gets in touch with you as soon as possible. The day of the surgery was a breeze, however the next few days were a bit painful. After the surgery Dr. Engler called me many times to make sure that I was recovering well. I have to admit that was very impressive. It made me feel safe both because I wasn't left alone and Dr. Engler is a very gifted surgeon and a wonderful human being. I do recommend him to any woman considering breast augmentation surgery. I’ve never written a letter like this before but I felt I had to tell you that your show has changed my life. All my adult life I Have felt very insecure about my appearance because of small breasts (36 minus A – I am indented). I don’t think of myself as a vain person but this really made me feel bad about myself. Four years ago I saw Dr. Alan Engler on your show (The Ricki Lake Show) talking about plastic surgery. I have seen other shows about this topic, but Dr. Engler seemed like such a good doctor, as well as so warm and caring, that something just clicked with me. When I found out he was in New York, I called his office and made an appointment for a consultation. Well Ricki, Dr. Engler performed breast augmentation a few months ago and I have never been happier in my whole life! The surgery was hard, but Dr. Engler was there for me every step of the way. And now I have never felt better about myself and everyone says I’m like a different person. Ricki, I can’t thank you enough for helping to change my life and I hope you will have Dr. Engler on again to help other people make this kind of change in their lives, too.
I am a 29 year old woman who recently underwent a breast augmentation surgery, and I am writing to thank you and your staff. You see, regretfully, before I was born there was a slight gravity problem in Heaven, and what should have been my natural full breasts dropped and shifted to the back. God and I agreed that he would get around to fixing things, but when I hit puberty, other world disasters and dreams diverted His attention, which is why He created men like Dr. Engler. Getting to the serious side, the hardest time I had with the entire process was finding a doctor who made me feel like a person and not just another procedure to be performed. I had another doctor picked out before going to see Dr. Engler but I decided to see him, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. I could go into incredibly long stories explaining why I decided to have it done, but I will just say there were many. I am not an unattractive woman, I never had trouble attracting the opposite sex, so please let me define that it is not about men or any level of insecurity. It was the biggest, most selfish thing I have ever done, and I could not be happier! I went from an A cup to a full C. I was nervous before the surgery but Dr. Engler and his staff made me feel so secure in my desires that I felt instantly that everything would be all right. I think I fell asleep under anesthesia with a smile on my face. I am happy to say that Dr. Engler touched my heart. I have experienced various surgeries and never before has a doctor made so many follow-up calls, especially on a holiday weekend. I will forever hold him and his staff in my heart. They made my dreams come true and they did it with warmth and compassion that I was almost convinced has disappeared from healthcare long ago.

I personally want to thank you for having Dr. Engler on your show, and I really hope you bring him back to change other people’s lives the way he changed mine. You have no idea how happy I was the first time you had him on your show discussing breast surgeries and actually showing the before and after of the women who were there to receive the life altering surgery. It was as if you had heard my many prayers and knew of my dreams to be connected to a reputable surgeon. After viewing your show I was sure that I wanted him to be the surgeon to perform the surgery that I have wanted for at least 7 years – a breast reduction. From the first appointment with Dr. Engler, I felt he was the right one. Dr. Engler made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. He was very professional and yet sweet. He answered all questions thoroughly. By the end of the appointment I was well informed, and 100% sure…. No POSITIVE and confident that he would be the surgeon to perform the operation. On the days following the initial appointment I was contacted often by his staff to inquire about my well being and offering to answer any further questions I may have had. The surgery date has come and gone and, like expected, I am 110% happy with Dr. Engler’s work, and the continued professionalism and concern for my health before, and after the surgery. I finally gave up with the personal trainer, starvation diet, going to the gym daily, etc., once I realized that the only way I could get the results I wanted was with a liposuction. I did some research, made a few appointments, met with a couple of doctors and eventually made my way to Dr. Engler. During our meeting, he made me feel like a person not just a patient who wanted to have surgery to look better. He took the time out to explain the entire concept of what liposuction was, its risks as well as its benefits and answered all my questions; one by one without hesitation. He suggested that I have liposuction of the stomach, hips and thighs to make my body look even. I had seen enough doctors so that I scheduled my surgery without a second thought. After narrowing down my search to the top plastic surgeons in Manhattan, I scheduled my consultations before picking a doctor. Dr. Engler was clearly the right choice. His superior level of experience and expertise was evident from the very beginning. He patiently and honestly answered all my questions and eased my concerns. Unlike most surgeons, he actually has a great personality too! He and his lovely staff run a very smooth office and make you feel at ease. I am a 42 year old wife and mother of two. Up until a few weeks ago, my bra size was 40 DDD/E. I’ve suffered years of back, neck, and shoulder pain as well as rashes. After having my daughter over 7 years ago, I had learned to both ignore and deal with the fact that I had lost so much of my breast size as a result of the pregnancy and nursing, approximately two cup sizes to be exact. I researched and bought natural herbs and even spoke to both nutritionists and Chinese herbalists to see what I could possibly do. However, after trying for almost 3 years, I realized that I had to either accept my current state or have breast augmentation. He understood my unwillingness to do a breast lift and said he would do the best he could to give me a good result. I am now fully restored to both the size I had been since a young teenager, and to the person I fully need to always be. I find him to be a real gift to women in particular. My feeling is that this is something he is meant to do, that is why he does it so well. He offers this gift of capability and compassion to women as a service for their true good. I’ve had problems with my extremely large breast size since my early teens. My breast size caused neck, back, and shoulder pain. But the pain was both physical and mental. I’d endured nasty remarks about my breast size throughout my life. I’d contemplated having a breast reduction for years, but after watching your show, I made the decision to consult with Dr. Engler. Dr. Engler and his staff made this stressful decision very easy. He was very encouraging and easy to talk to! He understood my pain and made me feel comfortable. I had been thinking about having breast augmentation for a few years, and I finally decided now was the time. My mom and I did some research on Dr. Engler, as well as other plastic surgeons, and we decided to go see him. I knew after the initial consultation that he was the doctor I was going to pick, and picking Dr. Engler was the best decision I have ever made. Dr. Engler is one of the most wonderful, not only doctors, but people whom I’ve ever met. My surgery was performed on the day of a huge snowstorm. Dr. Engler called me the day before to confirm that I wanted to have it done. Dr. Engler was most helpful in not only assisting me with the hotel reservations, but he, himself, stayed over in Manhattan the night before just so he could do my surgery. Dr. Engler and his nurse Jen, who by the way, came in all the way from Long Island to assist in the surgery, were there to greet me and my mom. The surgery went well. The next few days were a bit uncomfortable but Dr. Engler called me twice a day to see how I was doing. This was one of the finest gestures any doctor could ever do for a patient. Several months have now gone by and I am not only well, but I’m looking great. I am extremely happy with my new outward appearance, and I have more self confidence as well. Thank you!

I always had issues with my body when I was growing up. Constantly dieting caused my weight to fluctuate over the years and as a result my breasts began to sag. Aside from dropping, they were uneven and unattractive. I always had to wear a bra and bathing suit tops had to fit like an under wire bra for me to wear them. When I reached my thirties, I finally became happy with my weight by eating healthy and exercising. Unfortunately, neither of those things would change the look and feel of my breasts. When I turned 33, I decided to consider breast augmentation. I was unsure whether or not I would need implants or a lift to get my desired results. After doing extensive research on the Internet, I went to see Dr. Engler for a consultation. I knew right away he was the doctor for me. It turned out that to achieve the results I wanted I would have to have both a lift and implants. Dr. Engler was very upfront about the scarring I would have from doing both, but I decided it was worth it. I was right. The results were amazing! I really put myself in the hands of Dr. Engler and let him guide me on the size and type of implants. I wanted to look natural and they definitely do. The only thing unnatural about them is that they are just about perfect! My experience with Dr. Engler from the moment I walked into his office was a wonderful experience. Dr. Engler was one of three surgeons I had consultations with regarding Breast Reduction surgery to alleviate the extreme back pain caused by a combination of my extra large breasts and back injuries in connection with a car accident. Although I felt completely comfortable and immediately trusted Dr. Engler, I went against my better judgment and chose another doctor for financial reasons. Well, I paid a much higher price, as the surgery was a disaster, which resulted in infection, misplaced nipples, and misshaped breasts with ripples. All the while, my doctor only called once to check on my progress and seemed disinterested when I went in for checkups or called asking questions and trying to explain issues I was having (excessive bleeding, staples still in, etc.). After seven months and the realization that unless I did something my breasts would be a mess for life, I went back to Dr. Engler for another consultation. From the moment I returned to his offices, I knew I was going to be given the kind of care we all hope to receive from our doctors. The staff was friendly and helpful; Dr. Engler was kind, patient, informative, honest – everything you want in a doctor, especially one assisting you with such a sensitive and serious - and embarrassing - issue. He explained that it might not be easy to right the wrongs I had been victim to with my previous doctor; however, he would do his best. Now, post surgery, I am a new woman! I can look at myself in the mirror without crying over what my breasts looked like. Dr. Engler was able to correct what had been done, and I can't believe how great I look. He took the time to care for me, his patient; answering my questions, explaining in detail how the surgery went, calling me at home several time post surgery to make sure I was okay and wasn’t having any difficulty. His staff was always helpful, friendly and accommodating. I consulted with Dr. Engler to see if he would be able to correct the problems with my previous breast surgery - and the answer is YES. Now I look fabulous, and this is the way I hoped I would look from the start. Within a year of my original surgery I had developed rippling on my right breast, an indentation on my left breast, and had too large a space between my breasts. I was very aware of these issues as they were noticeable both in and out of clothes. Apparently, my surgeon had implanted the wrong implants for my body. A friend told me about Dr. Engler. At first I was hesitant to contact him because I live a little outside New York but then I did, and I have to say that my decision to meet with Dr Engler was definitely the right choice. Dr. Engler spent lots of time with me discussing my options. I met with him THREE times to go over all the choices, including the size of the implant, silicone versus saline, the profile of the implant, the incision, etc. I have three pages full of the implant dimensions and the measurements we made. He also has a great office staff. They are very pleasant and easy to speak with. I scheduled my surgery right after meeting him for the first time. The surgery itself went very well. I had very little pain, and the entire staff did a great job of keeping me comfortable and calm. Dr Engler's post-op communication with me was impeccable. He called me every day and walked me through the entire recovery period. How do I look? Magnificent, if I may say so! I would recommend Dr Engler to any woman who is thinking of having breast augmentation, whether for the first time or to correct what was previously done. Dr. Engler is very honest, straight forward and everything you expect from your surgeon.

Dr. Engler is as great a plastic surgeon as he is a human being. I was very resourceful when it came to finding the right surgeon to perform my breast augmentation, and at one point I even made four consultation appointments for one day! Many of the surgeons were eager to advertise themselves by constantly calling me back or trying to give me a bargain. But Dr. Engler was very professional and I knew he was the right choice, because in addition to having extensive experience and an outstanding resume, he was warm, informative and very attentive to my questions/concerns. After watching Dr. Engler literally change the lives of the women on the TV shows, I was very moved and I knew that I wanted to be like those women who were ecstatic about their plastic surgery makeovers. I wanted to be very happy, with the best possible results, and Dr. Engler did no less than a perfect job! He was always readily accessible and very patient. He is very detailed and meticulous about his work that until the very day of the surgery, he had me come in several times to make absolutely certain of the size that I wanted. More than anything, Dr. Engler is the surgeon you can trust wholeheartedly. He made me feel very confident about my choices, and I felt very safe and comfortable knowing that I was under the care of someone who made sure that everything was done with precision. When I woke up post-surgery, the anesthesia kept me dazed and I couldn't walk straight towards my ride, which was waiting for me outdoors. Dr. Engler placed me in a wheelchair and wheeled me outside and helped me get in the car. My friend, who was there to support me, was surprised to see just how far Dr. Engler would go out of his way to make sure that his patients are well taken care of, even beyond his office. In fact, she told me she was shocked to witness the doctor himself assist me outside of the operating room when he could have sent any of his staff to help me out. It's just something you don't see everyday, and it speaks volumes about Dr. Engler's character. It didn't end there. Dr. Engler also called nearly daily via his cell phone to make sure that I was healing properly. I have never been under the care of a doctor who extends himself this far enough to make his patient completely at ease before, during and after surgery. I also have to mention how warm and comforting the staff is; they are kind and personable so you always feel welcomed. My results are stellar! Everyone who has seen my breasts agrees that they are PERFECT! I'm already awaiting the warmer weather so that I can show them off! If you truly want to be HAPPY (and who doesn't?) with every aspect of your procedure, Dr. Engler is the one you can trust, to give you the body you want and to be there for you every step of the way. Dr. Engler, you ROCK!
Every year when summer came around, I would be so excited for school to be over, late nights out, and just time to hang out with friends. Still there was one thing that always bothered me… being at the pool and the beach in a bikini. Since I was little I always had a small framed body: thin legs, skinny arms, flat stomach, and worst of all, a flat chest. Nothing bothered me more then being around a group of friends who I thought looked awesome in a bathing suit and me feeling like I had the body of a fourth grader. I began feeling self-conscious and had a serious complex with how I looked. I stuffed my bra every day but it got so tiring. I had a talk with my parents and told them how I felt. At first they thought I was crazy but after seeing how serious I was, they agreed to take me to see a plastic surgeon. I was recommended to Dr. Engler and I went to meet with him. As soon as I walked into the office, all of my nervousness disappeared because of the warm welcoming I got. The staff made me feel comfortable and reassured me that there was nothing wrong with improving myself by getting a boob job. I thought I would feel awkward being in a room topless, but Dr. Engler makes the whole experience exciting and easy. My Mom was with me, and after she spoke with Dr. Engler, all of her doubts about me getting the surgery were thrown away. On the day of my surgery I was both thrilled and anxious. However, once I slipped into my gown and met with the anesthesiologist, I became at ease. I met once again with Dr. Engler and his assistant who took me to the surgical room and as they talked to me, I became even more relaxed. At that point I was so ready to go! When it was over, I was taken into another room where I got excellent care until I was conscious enough to go home. The first two days in my opinion were the roughest, but definitely manageable. The rest of the week I felt pressure, but overall, not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
When I was all set and done, I put on a bikini, looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t be happier! Every time I see myself in a bra or a low cut shirt, I just want to hug and kiss my doctor and his assistants who made it all happen!! If you are considering breast enlargement, I really encourage you to go for it. If you decide to get some kind of plastic surgery done, make sure you are 100% comfortable with your doctor. As for me, I couldn’t have asked for a better one!.
