Houston Plastic Surgeon, Houston Native
Dr. Sean Boutros is a Houston native. He attended elementary, junior high and a portion of high school at Second Baptist School. He finished high school at Robert E. Lee High before going on to Texas A&M University.
After two years of college, he applied for and was accepted to Baylor College of Medicine. He graduated in 1998 with honors and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society for the top 5% of graduating doctors.
He was then accepted for Plastic Surgical training at the world renowned Institute for Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. He trained there in General and Plastic Surgery before being accepted as the Craniofacial fellow under Dr. Joseph McCarthy (considered to be one of the fathers of craniofacial surgery). He also spent time in Paris, France studying ear reconstruction techniques under the direction of Dr. Francoise Firmin.
He was recruited back home to Houston by Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital in 2005. He founded Houston Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery to provide a vehicle for state of the art reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Boutros has authored over 17 peer reviewed articles along with nine book chapters. He also was the editor of the Plastic Surgery text, Current Therapy in Plastic Surgery. This invaluable textbook helps plastic surgeons around the globe and has been one of Elsevier's best sellers. He served as the prosector for the anatomy text, Surgical Anatomy of the Face. Dr. Boutros has also given innumerous presentations around the United States.
