Breast Implants ID Victim – Attention Called to Domestic Violence

Jasmine Fiore, the model who was brutally murdered and identified only by the serial number from her breast implants, was involved with Ryan Jenkins, a man with a history of domestic violence. This case has called attention not only to the people involved but also to the wider issue of abusive relationships and violent behavior.

The best protection against domestic violence is awareness, education and prevention.  The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence provides information for women and men to educate themselves about domestic violence, resources for those who need help, and the opportunity to donate and help the cause.

As the NCADV says:

Remember, you have the right to live without fear and violence.

If not for her breast implants, Jasmine Fiore would be one of many silent victims of the worst kind of domestic violence. If you or anyone you know is in a volatile and potentially violent relationship, familiarize yourself with the tools available at NCADV.

Breast Implants Help Identify Body

In the sad and disturbing story of the disappearance of model Jasmine Fiore, a clue that helped solve the case and lead to the prime suspect was found on Fiore’s breast implants.

From CNN:

Law enforcement sources have told CNN that Fiore was identified through the serial numbers on her breast implants.

The suspect in the case, later found to have hanged himself in a hotel room in British Columbia, was former reality TV star Ryan Alexander Jenkins. He had attempted to make identifying Fiore’s body impossible by removing parts of the body most often used for identification – namely, her fingers and her teeth.

What he didn’t count on was that her breast implants were traceable through the serial number and her doctor. Once the body was identified, a manhunt was underway, and authorities traced Jenkins to British Columbia rather quickly.

While there can never be a happy ending to a story such as this one, the senselessness and violence of this particular event will lack any possibility of closure for those close to the victim. As Jenkins appears to have taken his own life, justice will unfortunately not be served.

For Fiore, Jenkins’ violent history led to a harrowing end. To learn about violence against women and how to look for warning signs — and for resources to try and help end this senseless and deadly violence against women — visit the womenshealth.gov violence-prevention page.
