Dr. D' Amico featured in CNN Article
Dr. D' Amico featured in new article just added to Breast Implants USA.CNN wrote an article on the types of people that are candidates for plastic surgery, keeping in mind that not everyone is a candidate. The article states that even though plastic surgery procedures are done more frequently than ever with newer and safer technology always at the helm, not everyone is a candidate.
There are two groups of patients that fall into the "do not pass go, do not go under the knife" scenario: those with medical problems and those with psychological problems.
The first rule of when not to have plastic surgery is if the doctor doesn't want to do it, advises Dr. Richard D'Amico, president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. "If you have been turned away by a board-certified plastic surgeon, please don't ignore their advice. "
They have their reasons.
Dr. D' Amico reminds everyone that no surgery is risk free. Because plastic surgery is in fact elective and not necessary, surgeons have to do their best to minimize risk. D' Amico also stresses the importance of being cautious with patients who are under a lot of emotional and psychological duress.
