Notes: This 32 year old mother of two came to the office for breast augmentation (as well as a Tummy Tuck) to restore her pre-pregnancy shape. She breast fed her children and liked the fullness she had during that time, but when she stopped her breasts became smaller than before she was pregnant. Examination showed that her breasts had also fallen somewhat. We discussed a breast lift, but that would have required scars on the front of the breast. Fortunately, implants alone often give some lifting effect. Because of her specific anatomy, and because she wasn't going to have a formal mastopexy ( breast lift) her implants were placed above the muscle. This Long Island woman's "Mommy Makeover" included the breast enlargement as well as an abdominoplasty (see those photos as case 59 under "Tummy Tuck"). The breast enhancement usually requires 3-5 days off from work, and this patient did not complain much about chest discomfort at all. The tummy tuck recovery is longer, about a week and a half to 2 weeks away from work. So she recovered from both at the same time.
